Join KAIROS Prairies North Regional Gathering in Edmonton or online, for a powerful gathering that brings together activists from the rivers of Abya Yala and Turtle Island. Through stories, dialogue and interactive learning, Colombian partners Ana Teresa Rueda Lozada and Paola Chindoy will engage with Indigenous and settler participants to deepen relationships, explore shared struggles and strengthen collective action for justice.
Water is the first medicine and the source of all life. For Indigenous women, water carries sacred responsibilities, teachings of care and obligations to future generations. Voices from the Rivers of Abya Yala and Turtle Island celebrates the leadership, wisdom and resilience of Indigenous women who continue to defend and protect the waters that sustain us all.
Violence against women and violence against the land are deeply intertwined. Together, we will explore these connections and discover how women’s relationships with water, land and territory can be powerful sources of healing, strength and resistance.
Cost: $20 (free for Indigenous participants, students and online participants)
