Plants as Medicine with Kiana Fontaine

  • Rooted in Community Take Home BIPOC Art House Winnipeg, MB Canada (map)

Rooted in Community is inviting Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour (BIPOC) folks in Winnipeg to join us at Take Home BIPOC Art House on November 16th! Come connect with the land and each other as we start to settle into the Winter months ❄️ The land takes care of us and this workshop will honour plants as our relatives.

Kiana Fontaine will introduce some of the medicines that grow in Manitoba, such as the 4 sacred medicines and their uses and importance. Afterwards, we’ll make watercolour paintings of medicines/plants we feel connected to! 🎨

We will have free Lush massage bars and light snacks for participants. We will also be drawing to give away 2 waterproof Stormtech backpacks! Spots are limited, please sign up through the link in our bio!

Accessibility: This will be a masked event! Masks will be provided if you cannot bring your own. If you are not feeling well, please stay home.

There is a wheelchair accessible entrance on the corner of King St. and Bannatyne Ave and an elevator in the building.

Please note, this workshop is a space for Black, Indigenous, and Racialized folks, and we ask that spots are reserved for BIPOC folks. Thank you to TakeHome, Kiana, Lush, Stormtech, The Winnipeg Foundation, and the Chamandy Foundation for making this programming possible.
