You are invited to join a conversation with Shailesh Shukla, Priscilla Settee, and Noa Kekuewa Lincoln, editors of Indigenous Insights for Planetary Health and Sustainable Food Systems (2025), a new book that builds on the important work of Indigenous Food Systems (Settee and Shukla, 2020).
The book brings together the vital scholarship of Indigenous communities, community practitioners, grassroots voices, and allied partners from around the world who share perspectives on strengthening food systems, community well-being, and planetary health.
Through community-based stories and case studies, the book highlights how Indigenous knowledge and innovation are supporting the well-being of their communities and lands and advancing the global vision of sustainable futures through interdisciplinary perspectives.
The PFSVN is grateful to have been invited by Priscilla Settee, a key contributor to the our founding vision and ongoing work, to share our story in a chapter titled “The Rockefeller Food System Vision Prize: Identifying and Supporting Emergent Solutions for Food Systems Transformation” (Priscilla Settee, Paul Hanley, and Marla Carlson).
This online gathering offers an opportunity to hear directly from the editors and engage in a conversation about the role of Indigenous Knowledge and food systems in supporting community well-being and planetary health.
