Young Agrarians Apprentice Program

You’re invited to a Farm Tour and Potluck at Dunrea Farming Company in Margaret, Manitoba! Come out to connect with other farmers and local food enthusiasts, share a delicious potluck meal, and learn about regenerative agriculture!

Experience the growing world of Dunrea Farming Company, an ecological farm led by Kara Burrell with support from her partner Brian Meaud. This family-run operation grows vegetables and garlic, and will soon be opening an on-farm bed and breakfast. With their two children, Kara and Brian are reimagining what rural living and regenerative farming means to them.

On this tour, we’ll walk through their evolving three-acre market garden filled with perennials and annual vegetables. Learn how they’re cultivating abundance using organic farming practices, permanent raised beds, composting, cover cropping and preserving wild land around the farm.

You’ll also get a first look at their newly built farm store and bed and breakfast accommodation, a beautiful addition to their agri-tourism vision. We’ll finish the day with a community potluck and pizza night!
