Participants will build and take home their own bumble bee nesting box to place in their yard or property. These nesting boxes not only provide important habitat for native bees, but also contribute to a province-wide Bee Box Monitoring Program that helps researchers better understand bumble bee populations and nesting preferences across Alberta.
What’s Included:
• Educational presentation on Alberta native bees
• All materials needed to build one bumble bee nesting box
• Informational handouts on proper box placement and maintenance
• Opportunity to participate in an ongoing citizen science monitoring program
Participants must bring their own power drill, as only a limited number will be available. Gloves are also recommended.
Spots are limited and registration is required
Cost: $40/person
